Art Deco Handpainted Floral Heavy Barbola Wood Bookends Book Ends

Once more, from my personal collection, here's a pair of hand painted bookends - book ends in an elegant Art Deco era romantic shabby chic style. The set might possibly have been made in Italy although manufacture in the US is not out of the question. The pieces are either formed from wood composite or barbola - it's hard to tell; felt bottoms on the base. The pieces were made in 2 sections and the joinder seam is apparent at the back of the pair. The front of each piece features a handpainted design of florals - the sides feature leafy edges ending at the top with a carved floral. Overall coloring is gold with
lots of brown/bronze tones with the color of the flowers adding the contrast. Condition is terrific with shabby chippiness and old age kept to a minimum. Fabulous pieces that I hate to part with!

The pair are 6" high - measurements at the base are 7-3/4" x 2-1/2".  VERY heavy pieces that definitely have to go in a Priority Box to save on shipping.
