Plants, Herbs, Seeds and Soil Products Policy

On Finnalby, shipping plants, herbs, seeds, and soil often involves additional requirements for both buyers and sellers. These requirements aim to mitigate risks to personal safety and environmental health. Consequently, some items in this category are prohibited on Finnalby, while others may have geographic restrictions.

Certain plants, herbs, and seeds are prohibited on Finnalby based on various laws and regulations that ban or limit the sale of specific drug-like substances. This list is not exhaustive and may change at any time.

Items currently prohibited include:

  • Controlled substances like narcotics, marijuana, cannabidiol (CBD), and steroids
  • Plants or plant parts from which hallucinogenic substances can be derived, such as Acacia confusa, Mimosa hostilis/tenuiflora, Mitragyna speciosa (Kratom), and more
  • Hallucinogenic mushrooms, like Psilocybin mushrooms and Amanita muscaria
  • Psychoactive cacti that produce mescaline or pellotine
  • Any items represented as drug-like substances

Some plant materials pose an unreasonable risk of harm due to their toxic, caustic, or poisonous properties. These hazardous materials are prohibited from sale on Finnalby. Examples include:

  • Select nightshades,
  • hellebore,
  • jequirity beans,
  • mandrake,
  • mayapple,
  • wolfsbane, and others.

Invasive species, organisms that out-compete other species when introduced into a non-native environment, can damage ecosystems. Ensure any living material isn't restricted or prohibited as an invasive species in the destination area before shipping. Some countries provide resources for identifying such species.

The sale of any plant species identified as endangered by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) is prohibited. Region-specific restrictions also apply.

Listings for plants and seeds meant for planting must identify the item by a common name and/or scientific name. Any listing where the item offered is unidentified are not allowed.

Both buyers and sellers must adhere to any applicable laws or shipping restrictions concerning plants, plant materials, and seeds. These can depend on the genus and the country of origin. All shipments sold on Finnalby must clearly display specific information on the package's labeling.

Check with your local government agency for specific guidelines on what can be sold across state and national borders. Countries might also have importation requirements, like a phytosanitary certificate or other licenses and/or permits. Non-compliance penalties are the responsibility of the infringing party.

For any further questions, consult with an attorney or a qualified legal expert. While Finnalby can't provide legal advice or guarantee the accuracy of third-party resources, some of these resources might help you plan to sell plants, plant materials, or seeds.
