AMT stands for Author and Maker Thompson. I am an author of three stand alone novels so far, and several short stories. With several varying influences ranking from Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, JRR Tolkien, Bram Stoker, and many more, my books reflect varying tastes. I have written in different genres, but horror, and fantasy are my favorites. Currently I am working on the second book in a forthcoming trilogy, The Familiar Series. The first, Plight of the Familiar is out now, so don't miss it.
Now on to the making aspect of AMT. I am someone who has so much creative energy, that I have to constantly be working on something or creating something new. I like to draw, and I write a lot, but my second biggest passion is woodworks. I have always had a passion for solid wood, vintage, and antique furniture. These items were built to last and it shows. One motto I have is "Why buy something that will fall apart, when you can build it and make it last?"
I started off refurbishing and reclaiming old and vintage furniture in my living room and basement when I was young. Now in my 40s, I finally have a decent wood workshop where I spend my time when I'm not writing. Now I'm crafting solid wood decorations, furniture, wall hangings, and other crafts. Everything I make is built to last using quality pieces, fasteners, and high end finishes. I don't cut corners, and make things that can be enjoyed for generations.
