French Revival Ribbonwork Ribbon Rose Applique Decoration | Taupe with Muted Red Curlicues

Made by me and sewn to a cardboard backing, here's one of my ribbon rose creations - a taupe rayon center set against cream sugar pips and muted brick red rayon ribbon ties (acting as leaves). Size is about 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" approx. Entirely hand sewn with no glue involved.

Uses? Well, a doll hat, doll dress, maybe a sachet, a small box, hair ornaments, you name it - the ideas are endless. If you want to place on a piece of clothing, it's best to add a pin to the back and then 'pin it' to the clothing. This way, when the clothing needs cleaning, you can remove the piece before laundering. The sugar pips don't take to water too well!
